    Technical Specifications for Factory-Based Three-Dimensional Substrate-Free Cultivation of Gastrodia elata

    • In order to overcome the bottlenecks of traditional cultivation of Gastrodia elata Blume in Kang County, namely “deforestation and the one-year-on, three-year-off planting cycle”, on the basis of more than 2 years of pilot test in Yangba Town, the key technologies such as the industrial production of bacterial strains, tridimensional layered substitute cultivation, intelligent environmental control, and fungus material circulation were integrated to form the technical regulations for the industrial tridimensional substitute cultivation of Gastrodia elata Blume. The regulation specified 28 technical parameters across seven major stages, including the producing area environment, fungus material preparation, tridimensional facilities, cultivation management, disease and pest prevention and control, harvesting, storage and transportation, and fungus residue reuse, so as to realize “three reductions and one increase” (40% water savings, 60% land savings, 100% oak wood savings, and over 30% yield increase), which provided a standardized model for Kang County to build the core area of Gastrodia elata Bl. factory in southeastern Gansu.
