Abstract
This study aimed to screen the compound substrate formula which was suitable for ginger plug seedling raising in Hunan area, and that took into account both the economic cost and seedling quality, in order to provide theoretical support and technical reference for the local ginger intensive seedling raising. In the experiment, the commercial seedling substrate was used as the control (CK), and peat, vermiculite and perlite were selected as the raw materials to prepare 11 kinds of composite substrates in different proportions for plug seedling test. After the end of raising seedling, the morphological characteristics, agronomic traits and related physiological indexes of the seedlings under different treatments were measured. The results showed that the physical and chemical properties of each substrate generally met the basic requirements of seedling raising. In order to comprehensively evaluate the growth status of ginger seedlings under the condition of plug seedling, the principal component analysis method was used to comprehensively analyze the indicators of seedlings and calculate the comprehensive score. Based on this, the comprehensive ranking of each index of ginger seedlings was as follows: T11>T1>CK>T6>T9>T3>T10>T7>T8>T2>T5>T4. The further analysis showed that in the practice of ginger plug seedling, the best ratio of composite substrate was T11, that was, the volume ratio of peat, vermiculite and perlite (V peat ∶ V vermiculite ∶ V perlite) was 3 ∶ 2 ∶ 2.
