Comparative Trial of Introduced Soybean Varieties in Xiuyu District, Putian City

    • To address prominent issues in soybean production in Xiuyu District of Putian City—including limited varietal diversity, poor lodging and stress resistance, and relatively low yield—a comparative demonstration trial was conducted in the spring of 2025. Using the locally dominant cultivar Fudou 234 as the control, six newly introduced soybean varieties were evaluated to systematically assess their adaptability, stress resistance, yield potential, and maturity performance under coastal upland ecological conditions. The results showed that Zhonghuang 13, Zhongdou 54, and Qihuang 34 exhibited outstanding comprehensive field performance, with yields of 3751.53504.0 and 3619.5 kg·ha−1, representing yield increases of 12.97%, 5.5%, and 2.7% over the control, respectively. These varieties were characterized by compact plant architecture, strong lodging resistance, uniform maturity, and well-filled grains, indicating good potential for promotion and application. Among them, Zhonghuang 13 showed the highest germination rate, achieved lodging resistance grade 1, and exhibited the most pronounced yield advantage, demonstrating superior overall adaptability. It is therefore suitable to serve as a leading cultivar for large-scale promotion in Xiuyu District and similar coastal upland regions.Kendou 43 and Suinong 26 produced yields comparable to the control and showed good stress resistance and adaptability, indicating stable yield potential. Continued demonstration and trial planting of these varieties are recommended in subsequent production.
