Abstract
To investigate the effect of combining the soil fumigant dazomet with biological agents on alleviating continuous cropping obstacles in pepper, a plot experiment was conducted using ‘Zaoxiu’ pepper with four treatments: dazomet alone(CK), dazomet + Lüheng 168(MLH), dazomet + Taifeng No. 1(MTF), and dazomet + Yibingqing(MYBQ), each replicated three times. The plant survival rate, growth indicators, yield, and fruit quality were measured. The results showed that the survival rates of the MYBQ and MTF treatments were 68.97% and 66.67%, respectively, which were significantly higher than those of CK(46.67%)and MLH(41.07%). Compared with CK, the MLH treatment significantly increased plant height and stem diameter, while the MTF and MYBQ treatments significantly increased leaf chlorophyll content. The pepper yields under MTF and MYBQ reached 35,541.00 kg·hm−2 and 33,486.75 kg·hm−2, respectively, representing increases of 47.0% and 38.5% over CK. The MTF treatment exhibited the highest soluble protein and total phenolic contents, indicating the most pronounced improvement in fruit quality. In conclusion, the combination of dazomet and Taifeng No. 1 demonstrated the best effect on increasing yield and improving quality, while the combination of dazomet and Yibingqing achieved the highest survival rate along with a significant yield increase. Both combinations can serve as effective techniques for alleviating continuous cropping obstacles in pepper.
