    Analysis of Tobacco Leaf Quality Characteristics Based on Industrial Demand

    • To clarify the quality characteristics of tobacco leaves and their compatibility with industrial raw material demand, the main grades C3F, B2F and X2F from the Nanping tobacco-growing area of Fujian in 2024 were taken as research objects. Systematic evaluation was conducted from the perspectives of appearance quality, chemical composition and sensory quality. The results showed that Nanping tobacco leaves presented distinctive overall style and possessed good consistency with the positioning of industrial raw material demand. In terms of appearance quality, grade C3F exhibited satisfactory maturity and leaf structure, while some indicators of B2F and X2F still required improvement. For chemical compositions, major indicators of all grades were basically coordinated. The nicotine and potassium contents of C3F and X2F fell within the suitable range, whereas the nicotine and potassium contents of B2F needed further optimization. Sensory evaluation indicated that C3F delivered clear aroma, and X2F and B2F had potential for improvement in aroma volume and aftertaste. In conclusion, the Nanping tobacco-growing area had a sound foundation to produce raw materials matching industrial demand. Its quality level was expected to be continuously improved through further optimization of purchasing grading, curing technology and cultivation management.
