Abstract
Mechanized harvesting experiments on 9 sweet potato varieties that extended in Fujian in large area were conducted by using small sweet potato harvester LG-4U-1A. The result showed that the optimum walking route of this harvester was suitable for interlacing harvesting and the optimum walking speed was 600 m/h, and the exposure rate of sweet potato tubers was 97% and the buried rate and the damaged rate were greatly reduced; moreover, the operation efficiency and the harvesting cost of small harvester were 20 times higher and 1/16 times less than that of artificial. 8 testing varieties were suitable for mechanized harvesting , and the sandy loam in Fujian and cropping pattern with the ditch breadth of 90-100 cm were suitable for mechanized harvesting using this harvester.
