Comparative test of new sweet corn varieties

Comparative test of 10 new sweet corn varieties was carried out with “Yuetian No.16” as control. The results showed that “Yuetian No.22” had good comprehensive characteristics of high and stable yield, good ear appearance, good color, uniform arrangement of grains, good taste, high resistance to southern leaf blight, northern leaf blight and rust disease and moderate resistance to corn borer. Moreover, yield of “Yuetian No.22” was increased by 20.4% to compare to that of the control, reached the level of significant difference.
