    Planting performance of introduced tea variety “Jin mudan” in Longquan of Zhejiang

    • Tea variety “Jinmudan” were introduced to Longquan City of Zhejiang, and its planting adaptability, processing suitability, and economic benefit were preliminarily investigated. The results showed that in Longquan, the tea plants of “Jinmudan” germinated early, its growing period with one bud and three leaves in the spring was at early April; it showed strong adaptability and resistance, high transplanting survival rate, and performed well in the processing progress of Oolong tea and red tea with enjoyable flavor, higher quality and yield. The tea variety “Jinmudan” could be popularized in the low-altitude area of the southwest of Zhejiang Province, and is suitable to be processed into the products of Oolong tea and red tea.
