Cultivation test of Volvariella volvacea using new sugarcane-grassvariety “Minmu 101” as culture medium

A cultivation test of Volvariella volvacea was comparatively conducted by using sugarcane-grass varieties “Minmu 101” and “Minmu 42”, as well as rice straw as main component of culture medium. The results showed that the yields of Volvariella volvacea with “Minmu 101” and “Minmu 42” as main component of culture medium were significantly higher than that with straw as medium, but no significant difference between the both sugarcane-grass varieties, which indicated that both “Minmu 101” and “Minmu 42” could substitute rice straw as main component of culture medium in cultivation of Volvariella volvacea.
